Mobile Services
With 17.3 million wap (wireless application protocol) users in the UK alone it's an audience you maybe missing out on.
As a rule mobile web sites are cut down versions of standard desktop web sites, however the application of CSS pages to an existing web page will not enable the web sites to be viewed on older mobile devices.
Such as the Sony Ericsson T610.
Which means you will be cutting out a large proportion of the 17.3 million UK users.

We don't offer cut down versions instead develop mobile sites that standalone from your main or desktop web site. However they are fully integrated and as such data changes such as the price of a product or service, updates to company policy will be carried across to the mobile site.
The example shown below in both a modern handset that supports full xhtml (the same as internet explorer) and an older wap handset (wml).
The site shown on the screens of both phones is live and active at www.mobile.pizzajim.co.uk.
And as with all our mobile products it is integrated with the main domain name for Pizza Jim™ www.pizzajim.co.uk so a user (web surfer) may access the mobile version of the web site without having to know the specific domain name for mobile browsing. This helps you reach the audience first time without having to print two domain names on your leaflets, brochures, business cards etc...
The Nokia N95 8GB • >>
Most Mobile web sites now are developed with smartphones like the N95 in mind, whilst this is understandable as the level of functionality is similar to what you may experience on your desktop, the market penetration for these devices is still relatively low.
With the Lions share of mobile devices used for accessing the web being wap enabled with cut down versions of xhtml.
Web sites designed solely for smartphones do not work on the older wap 1 & 2 devices.
"A fifth (21%) of adults in England have used a mobile phone to access the internet, 15% in Scotland, 17% in Wales and 23% in Northern Ireland. The figure is higher in urban areas (22%) than in rural areas (15%)" *
Please note:
The web pages you see within the screens of the phones left and right are optimised mobile versions and as such will not render exactly as they would on a mobile device.

This is still the kind of mobile phone most visitors to your mobile site will be using. Usually the High Cost of developing a mobile web site that will work on both kinds of handsets is a prohibitive factor for companies.
However here at PurplePanda we offer mobile web sites that will work across both types of handsets without the need or the expense of running two mobile sites.

In the first year of the creation of your web site we offer a special discounted rate on a per wap page basis. So if you choose not to add this option now so long as it's within the first twelve months of your web site going live you will still be eligible for the discounted rate.

PurplePanda prides itself on pioneering new technologies.
Here's a brief selection of what others are saying about the Mobile net.

"The Mobile Internet has arrived! Each day sees deals and rumours of deals between operators and search engines and users are embracing the ubiquity of the mobile device to access the Internet more frequently and for longer. While operator portals certainly still have a role to play, the move from closed garden to open Internet access is continuing apace and is opening the market for direct to consumer mobile content and applications." IIR Telecoms

"European 3G Subscriptions Seen Topping 100 Million. AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - European mobile carriers have crossed the 100 million mark with subscribers on their third-generation networks, market research firm Informa Telecoms and Media said." Reuters New Yor Times

"Mobile internet is taking off. Over the next four years, the world's telecommunications groups will begin to deploy 4G wireless broadband services, ushering in what some have described as the mobile internet." FT.com
